Leading SEN school transforms pupil learning with Wizefloor & Aurora.

Their story
A modern school for young people aged 3-19 with special educational needs, Castle Tower School has state-of-the-art facilities. These include a hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory spaces, an immersive room and an interactive floor. Their school community is supported by their staff, parents and governors, working together to help their pupils grow in confidence, develop essential skills and learn in an inspiring and engaging environment. The principal at Castle Tower School tells us about their experience with Wizefloor and Aurora (Osborne Technologies’ range of interactive and sensory solutions).
The opportunity
With a new school building in construction and the goal to be at the forefront of special education in the UK, Castle Tower School visited the Bett show to discover the latest educational technologies to align with their vision. After interacting with Wizefloor and experiencing Aurora multi-sensory spaces, the team was extremely excited and impressed by the technologies on display.Â
Why Wizefloor and Aurora?
Following the show and a project proposal, the principal was confident that Wizefloor and Aurora were the right solutions to deliver their vision, especially with Osborne Technologies being an industry leader in delivering multi-sensory and interactive spaces in the UK.
Wizefloor and the Aurora sensory rooms provide much more than a traditional passive sensory environment. At the touch of a button, they can be set up to provide a stimulating sensory environment for our most complex pupils or classes of pupils taking part in numeracy lessons through active play.

The solution
Osborne Technologies’ experienced team of engineers installed a WizeFloor interactive projection system in a dedicated space, easily accessible by all ages and abilities. In addition to this, two Aurora multi-sensory spaces and an Aurora immersive room were also installed.
Our pupils require a school environment that can support all their sensory needs throughout the school day. As each child has individual needs it is important that all of our spaces can be easily and quickly changed by staff without the need for IT support or complex training. Our spaces are used multiple times a day and are rarely not in use. With our spaces being so intuitive staff are very confident when using these spaces.

The results
Wizefloor and Aurora have been a huge success with their school community. Pupils with a range of disabilities and learning needs can move, play and develop, through interactive learning and sensory stimulation. Staff find it easy to create and edit their own games to suit the specific needs of each child.
Osborne Technologies are still at the top of their game, continually improving and introducing new technologies to the special education sector. The team are a pleasure to work with, they listen to the needs of our pupils and produce spaces that can be relied upon day after day by our staff. Aftercare is as important as the sale and Osborne Technologies have always supported us and go out of their way to ensure we have everything we need to use our sensory spaces.
